GoHighLevel AI Studio Finally Lets You Download Your Code. Now What?

GoHighLevel just made a pretty important change to AI Studio.

You can now download the code for the website you build.

And honestly, I'm glad they did it.

One of my biggest issues with AI Studio from the beginning was that I could build a really nice website incredibly fast, but then I didn't have an easy way to take that website with me.

That's actually why I originally built VibeEscape.

But now AI Studio has its own native code download.

So what exactly do you get when you click that download button, and more importantly, what can you actually do with those files?

I downloaded one of my own AI Studio websites to find out.

First, yes, you are getting the actual website source code

This isn't a screenshot of your site or some simplified version of it.

AI Studio gave me an actual React project.

Inside my download were files and folders including:

• src
• public
• package.json
• index.html
• vite.config.ts
• TypeScript configuration files
• Tailwind configuration
• React components
• pages
• CSS
• hooks and other project files

So this is a legitimate source-code export.

If you're a developer, you probably already know what to do from here.

You can install the dependencies, build the project and deploy it somewhere outside of AI Studio.

That's a big improvement.

But what if you aren't a React developer?

This is where I think a lot of GoHighLevel users are going to get stuck.

You download your website, open the folder and see things like:

• App.tsx
• package.json
• vite.config.ts
• tsconfig.json

Now what?

If all you wanted was to build a beautiful website in AI Studio and then put that website somewhere else, you probably weren't planning on learning React, TypeScript and Vite along the way.

And that's an important distinction.

Downloading your source code and having a website you can easily move around aren't necessarily the same thing.

Can you host the downloaded AI Studio site somewhere else?

Yes.

Because you now have the React project, you are no longer limited to keeping that code inside AI Studio.

You can take the project and deploy it using hosting that supports this type of application.

For example, you could potentially use services such as Netlify, Vercel, Cloudflare Pages or your own hosting environment.

You'll need to build and deploy the project correctly, and depending on what your particular AI Studio project does, you may also have integrations or backend functionality that needs additional setup.

But the important part is that you now have the source code.

What about putting it into WordPress or regular GoHighLevel?

This is where things get a little different.

A downloaded React project isn't something you generally copy and paste into a WordPress page or a regular GoHighLevel website page.

And the index.html file you see inside the download doesn't mean AI Studio gave you a simple standalone HTML copy of the finished website.

That HTML file is part of the React/Vite application.

So if your goal is:

"I love the website I made in AI Studio. I just want to put it into regular GoHighLevel without rebuilding the whole thing."

You still need another step.

And this is one of the reasons I'm still using VibeEscape.

This changed what VibeEscape is for

When I originally created VibeEscape, AI Studio didn't give me an easy way to download my site.

I wanted my React files, so I built something that could get them out.

HighLevel has now solved that part themselves.

I'm not going to pretend they haven't.

But something interesting happened after they released native code download.

People kept buying VibeEscape.

And I think I understand why.

The average person buying VibeEscape isn't necessarily looking for a folder full of React and TypeScript files.

A lot of people just don't want to rebuild the website they already spent hours creating.

That's the problem I'm more interested in solving now.

VibeEscape also creates an HTML version

VibeEscape still gives you the React site, but I also include an HTML version at no additional charge.

That HTML version is there for people who want more flexibility with where they put the design.

For example, I've taken websites I created in AI Studio, exported them through VibeEscape and pasted the HTML into the custom HTML/code area of a regular GoHighLevel website or funnel.

I've had no problem doing that with my own sites.

That gives me a workflow I really like:

Build it in AI Studio → Convert it → Put it into regular GoHighLevel

Now I can use AI Studio for what I think it's really good at: creating the site quickly.

Then I can decide where I actually want that website to live.

Why would I put it back into regular GoHighLevel?

There are several reasons I might want to do that.

• Maybe I want to use GoHighLevel's regular forms.
• Maybe I want my CRM and automations connected there.
• Maybe I want more control over my tracking and analytics.
• Maybe I'm building out SEO and want the website to live somewhere I'm already comfortable managing long term.
• Or maybe I simply don't want to rebuild the design manually inside the regular GHL website builder.

That's really the point.

I already built the site once. I don't want to build it again.

A word about the HTML version

I want to be clear about what VibeEscape is and isn't.

VibeEscape is $59 one time.

The React export is the core product, and the HTML version is something I include as a bonus.

Every AI Studio project can be different.

If your website depends on forms, APIs, databases, server functions or other integrations, those things may need to be reconnected or adjusted when you move the site.

HTML isn't going to magically move an entire backend from one platform to another.

VibeEscape is also not a done-for-you website migration service.

I'm not personally taking your site, moving it to another platform, reconnecting every integration, troubleshooting it and testing the entire thing for $59.

If I were doing all of that, I'd be charging $599 or more.

The purpose is much simpler:

Get the site you built into formats you can actually take with you, so you don't have to start over.

So do you still need VibeEscape now that AI Studio has code download?

Maybe not.

And I think that's worth saying.

If all you wanted was your React source code, try AI Studio's native download first.

HighLevel gives you the project now.

That's a good thing.

But if you download that folder, look at all those React and TypeScript files and think:

"Okay… but how do I get this into regular GoHighLevel?"

or

"I really just want an HTML version of the site."

That's where VibeEscape is still useful.

For just $59, you can use it to export as many of your AI Studio websites as you want. One price, unlimited sites. It's hard to beat that.

AI Studio is becoming a much more interesting website builder

For me, this update actually makes AI Studio more useful, not less.

• I can use AI to create a website quickly.
• I can access the underlying code.
• I can download the source project.
• And if I want another format or want to move the design into a different environment, I have options for that too.

That's what I wanted from the beginning.

I don't want the tool I use to build a website to determine where that website has to live forever.

Build it where it's easy.

Get your files.

Then decide what you want to do with them.

That's a workflow I can work with.
