How to Export a GoHighLevel AI Studio Website to GitHub
GoHighLevel AI Studio recently made a pretty important change: you can now download the source code for your AI Studio project.
That means getting your AI Studio website into GitHub is much easier than it was before.
There is one important distinction, though.
You can download your AI Studio project and put it into GitHub right now.
What AI Studio does not currently appear to offer is a native GitHub integration that automatically connects and syncs your AI Studio project with a GitHub repository. GoHighLevel currently lists that integration as planned on its roadmap.
So let's break down what you can actually do today.
Can You Export a GoHighLevel AI Studio Website to GitHub?
Yes.
AI Studio now lets you download your project's source code.
Once you download the project, you can create a GitHub repository and upload or push those files to it.
The basic workflow is:
AI Studio → Download Source Code → GitHub
You no longer need a separate tool just to get your React source files out of AI Studio.
That's a big improvement.
What Does AI Studio Give You When You Download the Code?
I tested the new native download using one of my own AI Studio websites.
This isn't just a screenshot or copy of the visible website.
I received an actual React/TypeScript project with files and folders including:

- React components
- CSS
- pages
- hooks
- other development files
So yes, you're getting real source code.
If you're a developer or you're working with one, this gives you much more control over what happens to the project after you build it in AI Studio.
How Do You Put an AI Studio Website Into GitHub?
Now that AI Studio provides the source-code download, the process is pretty straightforward.
- Open your website or application in GoHighLevel AI Studio.
- Download the source code.
- Save and unzip the project on your computer.
- Create a new GitHub repository.
- Add the downloaded project files to the repository.
- Commit the files.
- Push or upload them to GitHub.
That's it.
If your goal is simply to keep your AI Studio source code in GitHub, you don't need VibeEscape to do that anymore.
Use the native download.
Can You Connect AI Studio Directly to GitHub?
This is where the answer is different.
At the time I'm writing this, GoHighLevel does not appear to have released a native GitHub integration that automatically connects an AI Studio project to a GitHub repository.
GoHighLevel currently lists its "Add GitHub integration" feature as planned on its AI Studio roadmap.
So there are really two different questions:
Can I put my AI Studio project into GitHub?
Yes. Download the source code and upload or push it to GitHub.
Can I connect AI Studio directly to GitHub and have the two stay synced?
Not yet, based on GoHighLevel's current roadmap.
That may change, and I'll update this article when it does.
Why Would You Put an AI Studio Project on GitHub?
There are several good reasons.
Backup
You have a copy of your source code outside of AI Studio.
Version Control
GitHub lets you track changes to your project over time.
Client Handoff
If you're building AI Studio websites for clients, you have another way to provide access to the project's source files.
Development
A developer can clone the repository and continue working with the project outside of AI Studio.
Deployment
Your GitHub repository can also become the source for deploying the project through compatible hosting platforms.
Can You Host the AI Studio Website From GitHub?
Yes, depending on the project.
Once your source code is in GitHub, you can connect the repository to compatible hosting platforms such as Netlify, Vercel or Cloudflare Pages.
Those services can use the repository to build and deploy your project.
The exact process depends on how your AI Studio project was built and what functionality it uses.
A basic website is very different from a full application connected to databases, APIs, authentication or server-side functionality.
What Doesn't Automatically Transfer?
This is important.
Having your source code doesn't necessarily mean every part of your application automatically works somewhere else.
Depending on your AI Studio project, you may need to reconnect or configure things such as:
- forms
- APIs
- databases
- authentication
- calendars
- payments
- server functions
- environment variables and secrets
- third-party integrations
If you have a fairly simple website, moving it may be straightforward.
If you've built a more complicated application, expect additional setup.

But a lot of GoHighLevel users aren't React developers.
Sometimes I don't want a development project.
I just want the website I designed in AI Studio in a format I can use somewhere else without rebuilding the entire design.
